The role
Permanent full-time position, subject to completion of probational period with regular hours including day shifts, active night shifts, weekends. Part-time applications might be considered for a minimum 30 hours per week for the right candidate. Immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to children with complex disabilities, enhancing their independence and quality of life.
- Assist families in managing daily tasks and routines, promoting a positive and nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure holistic support for the child and their family.
- Work flexible hours, including day shifts, active night shifts, and weekends.
- Document progress and provide regular reports.
This position is ideal for an experienced support worker, enrolled nurse, student nurse / paramedic / allied health, as well as early years educators.
Additional skills or interests such as arts, crafts, cooking, playing musical instruments, singing, or other creative pursuits will be highly valued and add extra points to your application. These skills can help foster a fun and engaging environment for the children we support.

Essential skills / experience criteria
- Previous experience working with children and young people with complex health conditions.
- Previous experience working in Acute Healthcare setting.
- You must believe in an inclusive society and be client focused.
- Ability to work independently and with the team.
- Capacity to work flexible hours on a roster system.
- Ability to travel across Brisbane to and from work.
- Experience in critical care, aspects including but not limited to:
- Personal care
- Hoisting/moving and handling
- Epilepsy/seizures management
- Oxygen administration
- Vital signs monitoring
- Suctioning
- Enteral feeding
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Invasive and none-invasive ventilation
- Medications administration
Desirable skills and experience
- Min 1 years of experience working with children with complex disabilities.
- Experience in critical care.
- Come from a nursing background.
- Experience working in community care.
- Proven understanding of Person’s and Family Centred Care.
- Previous experience working in a people management and leadership role.
- Level 3/4 Certificate in Disability Services.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current Blue Card.
- Current Yellow Card and NDIS Worker orientation and training
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- CPR Certificate issued within the last 12 months (or willing to obtain).
- Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
- QLD Unrestricted Driver Licence.
- Own reliable transport with Current Full Comprehensive Car Insurance.
